What It’s Like to Work With Me
From the first "hello" through to delivering your finished photos and beyond, my aim is to make the whole experience feel easy. I'm here to remove as much stress as possible from you - and I know from personal experience that planning a wedding can be stressful!
On the wedding day itself, I’m the "chilled presence" there to document what’s happening without getting in the way. Most of the time that means working quietly and just letting things happen naturally. When it comes to moments that need a bit of structure, I’ll keep everyone right — usually with a bit of humour so it never feels awkward or overly serious (if you're partial to a silly joke or ten, we're going to get on like a house on fire....)
It's fair to say wedding days rarely run exactly to plan and, whatever happens, I'll dig-in to help things run smoothly. Over the years that’s meant helping calm nerves, rounding people up when needed, and occasionally doing things that have nothing to do with photography at all — from helping the boys get their kilts on to making sure someone’s got a drink of water when they need it.
Couples often tell me after the wedding that they felt like I was part of the family. They tell me they felt more relaxed about the photos than they expected to and were able to enjoy the day without worrying about the photos - that's huge, because for me, your enjoyment of your big day comes first.
